Can I Nuke Adelphia?

Pardon me while I bitch a bit...

Over a month ago Dr. Doug and I became more and more upset at the quality of our cable tv service from Adelphia. The upper channels were not always clear and WGN resembled a snowstorm. Cable modem service has and does go out regularly without notice for hours on end. Only after you call tech support do they tell you, they are performing upgrades or other such rubbish.

Several weeks ago we had the cable repair guy come out and "attempt" to fix the television service. "Attempt" being the key word here. The young guy saw that we had no WGN, and did see the poor picture quality of several of the stations. So he went to work without saying much.

First the cable guy starts clipping off the ends of several of Dr. Doug's "Gold Ends" video cables that connected the televison and VCR and DVD recorders and reattaching new ends without even asking permission. "These are never any good." he tells Doug when Dr. Doug finally sees what Cable Guy is doing. Now all the quick connect cables we purchased in order to be able to rearrange the equiptment, add cameras etc without having to move the large and heavy tv etc. Grrrrr...

Then he goes to his truck to add add little boxes which area supposed to pump up the signal power to the tv's. He installs all of this, in about 45 minutes and sees the signal is still not good. Oops! Sorry! I'll have to get someone out to fix it at the line. He tells Dr. Doug and me. Asks for a signature and promises to have someone from the office call us to schedule the additional repair. We tell Cable Guy, that if they don't get this corrected, we exspect a credit for the lack of service. He tells us they will work with us.

We call three times in the past few weeks and over the holidays, and couldn't get a soul who could resolve our problem, or would work with us. We've gotten NADA NOTHING, NOT EVEN A DAMN WHISPER OF WHEN WE WILL GET THINGS FIXED. We have left several messages at the local office to get this resolved. STILL NOTHING.

Then to top it off, the Cable Guy tosses the ends of his clippings with my Gold Ends attached into our yard.

Tonight they shut our cable modem off. When I get up, I'm going to the Adelphia office to have a little conversation with the local manager. This is not going to be fun.
